Furthermore, mRNA vaccines can be scaled up and may not have the risk of integration. mRNA vaccines are roughly divided into non-replicating mRNA vaccines and self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccines. In this review, we provide an overview of saRNA vaccines, and discuss future directions and challenges in advancing this promising vaccine platform to combat emerging/re-emerging viruses.","abstract_license":"CC-BY (article license as recorded by Europe PMC; abstract reproduced unmodified apart from markup removal)","license":"CC-BY","is_open_access":true,"retracted":false,"peer_reviewed":null,"categories":[],"details":null,"provenance":"europepmc","attribution":"Abstract of \"Advances in saRNA Vaccine Research against Emerging/Re-Emerging Viruses\" by Liu Y, Li Y, Hu Q, https://doi.org/10.3390/vaccines11071142, used under its Creative Commons Attribution license (CC-BY); markup removed, otherwise unmodified.","topics":[{"slug":"mrna-cancer-vaccines","name":"mRNA Therapeutics & Cancer Vaccines","domain_slug":"medicine"}],"cited_in_dossiers":[]}
