Geometric Langlands Conjecture Proved: Equivalence of Local Systems and D-Modules — E8 Intelligence Research

Andrew Stewart Caldin

Abstract

FINDING: Proof of the geometric Langlands conjecture, a central pillar of the Langlands program, establishing a deep equivalence between geometric objects (local systems on curves) and representation-theoretic data (D-modules on moduli stacks of bundles). | MATH: The core equivalence: \( \text{Shv}(\text{Bun}_G(X)) \simeq \text{IndCoh}_{\text{Nilp}}(\text{LocSys}_{\check{G}}(X)) \). Key constants: none directly; relies on root system data of reductive groups \( G \) and its Langlands dual \( \check{G} \). | CONNECTION: Root systems (crystallographic symmetry) are fundamental—the duality \( G \leftrightarrow \check{G} \) exchanges root lattices and coroot lattices, preserving Weyl group symmetries. The moduli spaces involved are built from Dynkin diagrams and affine Weyl groups, which encode the same ratios (e.g., Coxeter numbers, eigenvalues of Cartan matrices) that produce golden-ratio-like proportions in exceptional groups (e.g., \( E_8 \) has Coxeter number 30, related to 0.618 via Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
